Otto Muehlethaler (b. 1960) is a photographer and craftsman who lives and works in Vienna, Austria. Having started photography in his childhood, later in 1980s, he documented in detail Bern’s young art scene and the protest movement «Unzufriedenen». While then living in Paris, Muehlethaler was cultivating his own colour palette and particular ambience for the images, which would embody an immerse, observant gaze. Never crowded or overwhelming, Muehlethaler’s artworks suggest the same pace from the viewer. Produced in analog and hand-printed, his work is designed for large formats to be exhibited in a space. Besides photography, Otto Muehlethaler has been working all his live as a craftsman which is an attitude both to life and art. To educate himself and enrich the vision, he had traveled intensively across Africa, USA, Central America, Europe, Russia, and Japan.
